“When I set out to make this documentary, my vision was to capture more than just an event, I wanted to frame the soul of Victoria itself. This city is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in Canada. Its calm streets, ocean views, and vibrant neighborhoods radiate a sense of harmony. It felt only natural to tell a story here that reflected both the landscape and the people who call it home.
Victoria is also one of the most ethnically diverse places I’ve experienced in Canada. That diversity is not just seen, but felt, in the warmth of its communities, in the voices that gather for moments of faith, and in the resilience they carry. I wanted to highlight that spirit: how a place can embrace differences yet still feel unified.
At the heart of this piece was also a purpose much larger than geography. This documentary was created in support of the people of Palestine, to remind audiences that while Victoria radiates peace and harmony, many communities around the world continue to struggle for theirs. My goal was to weave these threads together: a celebration of a city’s beauty, a testament to its diverse people, and a call for solidarity with those enduring hardship.”
